Our story
Welcome to AKA Garden Retreat
Before it became a homestay, this was simply our family's garden.
More than 40 years ago, our father began planting fruit trees and flowers around our home. Some of the trees, like our star fruit, pomelo and jackfruit, have been here for decades. A few years ago, he carefully chose and planted the mango trees that are now growing across the garden.
Even today, he still spends time every morning looking after the plants, watering them, pruning them and making sure the garden stays healthy.
My siblings and I grew up here. We climbed the trees, picked fresh fruit, ran barefoot through the garden and spent most of our childhood outdoors.
Today, our own children are making the same memories. They play under the trees, eat mangoes straight from the garden and wait for the fruit to ripen each season, just as we did.
When we decided to build AKA Garden Retreat, we wanted to keep the garden just as it has always been. We simply added a place where others could come and enjoy the same peace that our family has enjoyed for so many years.
We hope that during your stay, you'll slow down, enjoy the fresh air, listen to the birds and feel at home in our little corner of Hoi An.
